We want the clothes you love to work better for our planet and the people on it, whether that means improving the materials and processes we use, innovating with circular design methods, or training our design teams so they're equipped with the right skills. Shopping responsibly shouldn’t be hard work, so we’ve made it super-easy for you with our responsible edit and our sister site, handbag Marketplace.
Your next add-to-bag should never involve a choice between style and conscience. That’s why we make sure none of the products we sell use animal-derived materials like mohair, cashmere or silk. Plus, we’re switching to responsibly sourced raw materials where possible, and we partner with certified organisations to make that happen, from the Better Cotton Initiative to the Leather Working Group.
Team handbag would be nothing without the people in it, from those at the start of our supply chain to those sending out your orders. We know it’s our responsibility to make sure they all have their rights respected and feel safe and secure at work, so we work closely with partners like Anti-Slavery International and IndustriALL Global Union to make sure they’re protected.
We want to do better, fact. But we want to encourage the rest of the industry to make positive changes, too – so when we sell other brands’ products on our site, we request that they meet five key conditions around supply-chain transparency and sustainable materials.
Being extra is a yes from us – but not when it comes to waste. We’ve already achieved the targets of our 2015 carbon strategy, which defined how handbag planned to reduce carbon intensity per customer order every year – but we’re not stopping there.
