The Wilderness PDA Field Boot is a simple cover to protect the sensitive data ports on the Trimble Nomad PDA. Giles Stock, law enforcement consultant to Hornady Manufacturing, uses the rugged Nomad paired the excellent Field Firing Solutions Delta IV ballistics software (shown) to significantly increase long range hit probability in the field. However, the open ports on the Trimble’s base are at risk of debris ingress. The tiny CHINAB port is particularly vulnerable to clogging, so Giles designed a simple but tough cover from lightweight, compressible 1000d Cordura nylon. It expands to slip over the wider base of the Nomad and is held snugly in place by heavy-duty elastic back construction.
