The little Ruger 10/22 carbine is robust, reliable and handy. It's no wonder it has become America's favorite .22LR rifle, but this great little firearm has classically had one giant failing for most of its production - no slings or mounts were available for the gun as it came from the factory. The sling is to the rifle what the holster is to the pistol, and this oversight made field carry very inconvenient. We decided to fix the problem, and our
Giles Tactical Sling for the 10/22 is our answer. Designed by noted instructor Giles Stock and Wilderness president , the sling fits the 10/22 with the classic factory wood or synthetic stock¬聠with alloy buttplate, and with either a¬聠Ruger front barrel band or a Pro-Mag barrel band with sling loop and rails. While other configurations may fit, this is the only one we can be assured of fitting due to numerous possible dimensional differences. Two forend attachment options are available. For the standard Ruger barrel band, a clever adapter fits underneath the barrel band and secures snugly and securely. Alternatively, we offer a simple buckle end to attach to barrel bands with 1-1/4" sling slots. A carefully fitted wraparound harness for the butt of gun adapts it to accept our Giles Tactical Sling, the first modern tactical sling. Even though it's going on a .22LR, nothing is cheapened down for this version. We still use our tough-as-nails 1-1/4" sling webbing, custom beefed-up Delrin buckles on the sling body, and bombproof sewing developed in the days when we made rescue equipment. As options, we have adapted our G.O. Pack mount system¬聠to the 10/22 stock and sling. This creates a mounting point on the buttstock (right- or left-handed) to attach our versatile J-frame Speedloader Carriers, which carry Ruger factory 10-round rotary magazines perfectly. Up to two carriers may be fitted, giving you a compact and reliable rifle with 30 rounds total in the field.
Ruger barrel band or Pro-Mag barrel band not included.
Adapter and carriers not included with standard sling; available as options. Magazine carriers require the adapter to be fitted. The 10/22 G.O. Pack Adapter is different than the model for the AR-15/M16 and they are not interchangeable.
Will fit Ruger 10/22 Takedown. Must add either the optional Quick-Release Buckle or SPQD to be able to separate the sling and weapon halves.

Bring Back Marksmanship: Shoot Less! The ammo crunch has hit all of us, and many lament the loss of cheap, plentiful .22LR ammunition most of all. Yet perhaps losing the ability to hose with our 10/22 rifles has not really been such a loss. They say everything you do is training, and spraying volumes of .22LR into the dirt has hardly taught us to be a nation of riflemen. Noise and dust has often replaced marksmanship, so we say let聜Äôs turn this trend around and see the opportunity this situation holds. Let聜Äôs make the most of every precious round of the humble little .22LR. We were once a nation of rifleman, and we can be again. We might even have fun doing it.Since 1887 this simple cartridge has helped more Americans learn how to shoot than any other, and Ruger聜Äôs ubiquitous 10/22 has been a huge part of that. Its basic 10-round magazine is still the gold standard of reliability and remains our favorite. It holds more than enough for a morning rabbit hunt, but few enough that you pay attention while shooting and don聜Äôt waste them. Our dual-use¬聠10/22 Magazine/J-Frame Speedloader Carrier¬聠is the perfect way to carry these compact magazines on your belt or on your gun with the addition of our¬聠Giles Sling for 10/22¬聠and¬聠G.O. Pack adapter for Ruger 10/22 Giles Sling.Let聜Äôs make every round count, because in the words of the late instructor Louis Awerbuck, only hits count. -- The Wilderness |
