CCW-friendly AZ Dining Guide

Please use our contact form to submit pro or anti-CCW establishments. We do require that you confirm the pro- establishment's policy with management due to numerous inaccurate submissions in the past. Thank you for your active support!

When you call your favorite restaurants to make reservations for your family, please check if they are posted. If they are, please cancel the reservation for your party and let them know you regret that you and your family will no longer be able to patronize them. Thank them for their years of service.

If given the excuse that it is a liability problem, note that they have been misinformed because:

The law only applies to CCW permit holders who have voluntarily passed background checks and taken legal training to comply with the law. Many CCW permit holders are retired police officers The permit holders have agreed not to drink alcohol on the premises. The weapon MCHINAT be concealed. The same law, sometimes with fewer constraints, has been in effect in 40 other states without problems (with no drinking prohibition in many cases). Numerous national chains have chosen to allow lawful carry by permit holders and certainly would not have if it truly was a "liability" problem.

Remember that establishments that post may not automatically be anti-gun, they may just have a regularly disruptive and rowdy clientele that causes problems. You don't need the problems, and there are many fine restaurants with a higher opinion of you that deserve your business. We have also found an amazing degree of misinformation and many restaurants and bars made their decision with incomplete or incorrect facts. We must try to dispel this ignorance and help them make their choice from an educated, factual position.

Stop and Think

When one of the managers of a place says "just leave it in the car," imagine your insurance rates going up due to constant window breakage from criminals searching for unattended weapons they now assume will be in cars at restaurants or bars that prohibit CCW. While these restaurants might as well put up "Unarmed Victim Zone" signs on the front door, they should also add "Unattended Weapon Storage" to the parking lot. Will that owner reimburse you for? That could be your car broken into whether you own a firearm or not.

If these owners with an agenda really have their way you permit holders will be bullied into leaving your only protection at home and now be disarmed for your entire trip, not just in the restaurant.

Even if you are anti-gun, don't get the idea that an establishment is safer because of a "no weapons" policy. The establishment may have what the management considers a "problem" clientele and is naive enough to think that a sign will prevent a criminal from having a weapon. The management may not be anti-gun, but may not have educated themselves enough to understand that CCW permit holders do not break laws, don't cause problems and will NOT drink as long as the law requires it. Note that many of the 40 other states that allow CCW in bars and restaurants actually allow drinking, yet they still have had no problems.

Arizona State Rifle and Pistol Association CCW Friendly Places

We all share info, but please cross-check their helpful websites for possible additional updates.

John of CCW Friendly Places, sadly now offline, created a great flyer you may print and pass along to help educate restaurant and bar owners about the actual facts of the CCW laws. It asks them to thoughtfully reconsider posting. Thanks to John's efforts we have already seen managers who changed their position and have removed postings. Click here for the PDF document.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! If you find any of these entries in error please let us know so we can correct them. If you can, please help us to double-check these with the establishment's management to we can confirm each entry's accuracy - and let them know we are actually out here supporting them.

As these lists have grown longer we have all found it difficult to navigate. While they have been chronologically added so users could tell which have been updated, it has become clumsy. We will be re-ordering them at some point to be easier and more helpful. Thanks for your patience. -- Wilderness

Which restaurant or bar do you want to give your money to?

There are 346,927 CCW permit holders in Arizona (Arizona Department of Public Safety statistics, as of 9/26/19), not including our friends and families. Send a message with your wallet!

Click here to see establishments that consider you a dangerous problem…

…then give one of the great locations below your business!

These Establishments Support Your Rights (or are at least neutral)

Phoenix City Grille

5816 N 16th St, Phoenix, AZ 85016-2506 (602) 266-3001

"Sheldon and Nina have shown great support for our rights of self defense after learning more about our position over the years…Truly great food, casual but classy atmosphere, and great service. Central Phoenix location, which is very convenient. We consider them friends and recommend their establishment highly as the official eatery of The Wilderness." – Wilderness president Ralph L. Holzhaus II

Sierra Bonita Grill

6933 North 7th St Phoenix, Arizona 85014 (602) 264-0700

Rock Bottom Restaurant & BreweryAhwatukee, Arrowhead, Scottsdale, Desert Ridge

"We're bumping this back to the forefront because one location is managed by the husband of one of our great employees here at the shop. He has confirmed again that they have chosen not to post, and we want to support those that support us. We suggest taking turns as the designated driver/security guard with your friends so you can occasionally enjoy the great beers from this fun breweries." – Wilderness

Spinato's Pizza North Phoenix, Central Phoenix, North Tempe, North Scottsdale

"We have eaten here for many years and are very pleased we can continue to patronize them. The marinated spinach pizza is awesome, as is "The Meaty" meat-lovers pizza." -- The Wilderness

Roka Akor

7299 N Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85253 (480) 306-8800

"Very high-grade sushi and service. Spoke with management to thank them for not posting and they were very cordial and supportive. Apparently you don't have to choose between good sushi (actually great in this case) and being legally armed." – Wilderness president Ralph L. Holzhaus II

Thai Rama (All 3 locations)

Parson's Restaurant 5921 W. Northern Ave Cash register warns that patrons may be armed. A plaque on the wall states "WE DON'T DIAL 9-1-1, WE DIAL 1911"

Dickey's Barbecue Pit 2470 Happy Valley Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85085(Ben Avery Vicinity) Phone: (623) 869-0011

Babaloo's Cuban Café George, the owner, fled Cuba when Castro took over and knows freedom and welcomes those expressing LIBERTY!

Valle Luna Mexican Food & Cantinas Janie Riddle, co-owner of the local chain Valle Luna, decided not to post any signs banning firearms, saying that it would be "business as usual" at the family's three Mexican restaurants. "We've never had a problem in 26-plus years," said Riddle, whose husband, grown children and various relatives also work at Valle Luna."We basically talked about it as a family and as a business and just decided it was in the best interest to not prohibit law-abiding citizens from exercising their rights under the Second Amendment."

Silver Spur Saloon at Frontiertown 6245 E. Cave Creek Rd., Cave Creek, AZ 85331 (480) 488-3317

Marc Peagler, owner of the Silver Spur Saloon Restaurant in Cave Creek outside Phoenix, said he will allow people with concealed weapons permits to carry in his business, and Silver Spur will be safer because of it. "It's a deterrent," he said. "In the criminal element, there is some logic that says when people look at a place that they might want to rob, the ones that have big signs up that say 'We do not permit firearms' would be the first target. They know there's not going to be anybody in there that can stop them."

La Parilla Suiza Mexico City Cuisine Phoenix and Tucson A favorite of Arizonans for many years.

Famous Dave's BBQ 16148 North 83rd Avenue Peoria, Arizona 85382 (ARROWHEAD)"As all of the valley FDs are owned by the same company, we would assume this is a universally friendly CCW restaurant. This is good news as FDs is a favorite of the Civilian Marksmanship Program and their daily BBQ's after the matches in October. We would hate to see CMP change but we are fairly sure they would if they found out FD is not 2nd Amendment friendly. Their BBQ is so good after a long day on the points." – ASRPA
